If you are a first-time wig-wearer, here are some expert tips to ensure you put your wig on the right way for maximum comfort and undetectable look.

We take pride in providing the best quality wigs available in Australia from award-winning European wig brands, Ellen Wille and Raquel Welch. These brands are trusted and proven to last well, look fabulous and are totally undetectable when worn properly. Furthermore, they are ready to wear and pre-styled out of the box, so there’s minimal effort needed from you. However, there are things you can do when putting your wig on to ensure it looks totally natural and is comfortable to wear all day long. ‘

How to Put Your Wig on Correctly

If you have natural hair, you will first need to prepare your hair. If it’s short, just brush it away from your face. If it’s long, you can use flat pins to section back your hair, ensuring to keep them evenly distributed to avoid bumps. If you have a small amount of hair, you may want to use a wig liner to help keep your wig secure.

  • Hold your wig by the label at the back and tilt your head slightly forward to put the wig on
  • Place the front of the wig on your forehead
  • Gently pull the back of the wig back down to the nape of your neck
  • Check that the base of the wig is comfortable and centered on your nape
  • Wiggle your fingers around the base of the wig to ensure there is no hair caught underneath
  • Check that the metal clips on the sides of the wig are on your temples, level and centered
  • Your hairline should be a 4 finger width from your eyebrows for the most natural look
  • Smooth and shake your hair gently in to place

You’re done!

If you are using a lace front wig, be sure to take extra care as you put your wig on and avoid damaging the ultra delicate fabric. Once you have your wig on, you can style it as you desire. We recommend only using specific wig styling tools (brushes, combs) and not regular brushes and combs as these can damage your wig.
